and Logistics Industry

Virtual Conference sponsored by Trend Micro and RunSafe Security

December 5th, 2018

1:00 PM until 3:00 PM EST

What you'll learn:

AR Opportunities & Cyber challenges in Transportation

The world’s logistics and transportation industry is changing fast – and is in need of solutions to a number of key, pressing business issues. Also, challenges continue to grow for the ICS security community. In this two-hour virtual conference, we will discuss business challenges and opportunities facing the Transportation and Logistics industry and how we see this sector changing as a result of broad AR adoption. Then all our attention will be shifted to the ICS security issues. Our panelists will discuss cybersecurity risks and threats in the industrial environment. Also, they will provide insights on how to prevent rather than detect an entire class of malware attacks and explain what type of solutions can be used for better cybersecurity.

Augmented Reality in the Transportation and Logistics industry

Speaker

Geof Wheelwright – Director of Marketing Communications, Atheer, Inc.

Session Description:

The world’s logistics and transportation industry is changing fast – and is in need of solutions to a number of key, pressing business issues. These include:

– a continuing demand for faster, cheaper and more ecologically sound ways of moving goods

– a stronger requirements for transparency and accountability  of goods sourcing and delivery

– the need for more efficient warehousing to keep up with the pace of goods manufacturing and distribution

– and global economies that are increasing driven by ecommerce transactions that require delivery of goods directly to the homes of consumers.

Meeting these challenges is also complex, as the transportation and logistics sector covers a vast array of businesses. And it’s huge. According to the US government’s SelectUSA web site (which is aimed at encouraging direct foreign investment in the United States), the U.S. logistics and transportation industry alone totaled $1.48 trillion in 2015, and represent 8 percent of annual gross domestic product (GDP).

In this session, we:

– Outline the business challenges and opportunities facing the Transportation and Logistics industry

– Explain how an enterprise Augmented Reality Management Platform can be used to meet those business challenges by transforming the productivity, accuracy, and safety of your workforce

– Discuss how we see the transportation and logistics sector changing as a result of broad AR adoption

1:25 – 2:05

Cyber Security Risk and Threats to Industrial Environment

Speaker

Morton Swimmer – Manager and Senior Threat Researcher, Trend Micro

Session Description

The security of loT is currently at a similar level as IT security was about 20 years ago. What’s worse is that modern networking and wireless technologies have exposed these insecure devices in unprecedented ways.

In this talk, we will explore some of Trend Micro Research’s findings over the last couple of years. These vulnerabilities are often in the basic design of these devices and their infrastructure. Amongst other examples, we show how the insecure design of the AIS wireless protocol allows for ship position spoofing. Crane controllers are essentially hackable with a minimal investment. Furthermore, much of our critical infrastructure is left open to the internet to be attacked. Lastly, we will look into the future and why we think the security situation is going to get worse before it gets better.

2:05 – 2:30

Trend micro Cybersecurity Solution for Operational Technology

Speaker

William Kam – Technical Product Marketing, Trend Micro

Session Description:

This presentation will provide an overview of Trend Micro’s Cybersecurity Solutions for the operational technology domain. I will also explain how Trend Micro adheres to the industry standard reference architecture established by the international Society of Automation (ISA). By following the ISA95 reference architecture guidelines, it allows ICS professionals that have followed this model to start their deployments more easily. This presentation will help to understand how to deploy a Trend Micro recommended solution.

2:30 – 2:50

Speaker

Joe Saunders – CEO and Founder of RunSafe Security

Session Description:

– Prevent rather than detect an entire class of malware attacks

– Preclude exploits from executing and spreading
